Rob Harris Bio

Rob Harris has been making games since his father introduced him to a programmable calculator twenty five years ago. He has made a profession of his passion thanks to Coleco, Electronic Arts, and several small development companies.

After ten years as a game programmer of console-based video games, Rob moved into technical management first as a Technical Director for Electronic Arts and eventually becoming VP of Technology for Accolade. He worked on numerous high-profile titles such as EA Sports Madden Football and acted as technical liaison between programming teams and educational design groups.

For the last five years as an independent contractor Rob has been researching the development process for browser-based and wireless games. He has published several games currently playing on pogo.com and ea.com. He is also the founder and webmaster of www.easystreetgames.com, a Java-based entertainment site with a growing collection of arcade and tournament style games.

Rob graduated from Purdue University with an Associate's degree in Computer Science in 1982. He has been an active member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Computer Graphics Technology Department at Purdue for the last seven years. He has spoken at several conferences on the topic of the game development process and educational game design.
